Somebody say "Model Mayhem"??

Like most photographers of today, I believe web-presence is key and it is such a useful and time-saving medium. You can have a website, a blog, a flickr page etc, but don't rule out a ModelMayhem Page.

iDrawWithLight has recently started working with models, with the aim to have a network of models, both male and female to work with on given projects and also to present to other photographers needing models. The aim is to equip the models with portfolios and some web-space, in this instance, ModelMayhem profiles. This will enable them to refer anyone interested in working with them for examples of their work, as well as be a medium to generate interest from potential casting calls.

If you're a photographer and don't work with models either because you only want paid work or any other reason, ModelMayhem has more benefits than just being a place to view some of your work. You can work with models to expand your portfolio, expanding theirs and also in turn automatically promoting your work too. Remember, these are people you're working with, they are not loners, they have friends, and their friends have friends and so on and so on. Word of mouth is after all the most effective marketing strategy. So, MM easily contributes even from a business stand-point.

The more of your work you put out there and the more different streams through which you put this work out, the more people will see and appreciate your work. This may lead to even bigger opportunities for you the photographer as well as the models you've worked with. So, produce your best work each time, money isn't everything, it doesn't even equate to your art or time anyway, it's just some form of formal compensation. Therefore, don't put off ideas because there's no money involved at first glance, don't be stuck up because it'll hurt you more as a professional than it will anyone who would have wanted to work with you.
It's a win-win and honestly, it costs you next to nothing.

Too right, I did some work with models from modelmayhem not long ago... Some of them were really stuck up though. That's just how the industry is.

I'm liking the photos btw

Thanks :). Yup, some can be that way at times but you've just gotta keep at it. I've added a bit to the last two paragraphs actually addressing that issue.
